For the second consecutive game, the University of Toledo men’s basketball team showed second-half resiliency.
The Rockets trailed the University of Detroit Mercy by a point with 11:30 to go, but they stepped up to claim a 90-83 victory at Savage Arena, building off Tuesday’s 10-point victory at Wright State in which they trailed by five at halftime.
All five starters scored in double figures for Toledo (2-2).
“It's a high-character group, and these men really, truly care about each other,” Toledo coach Tod Kowalczyk said. “Obviously they care about how they individually play, but they care about the collective.
