Toledo’s lead just kept growing.
The Rockets roared out to a 9-2 lead over Missouri State on Sunday afternoon at Savage Arena. Then it grew to 16-6 and, finally, 26-11 late in the first quarter.
The second quarter didn’t get much better for the visiting Lady Bears. Or the third. Or the fourth.
When the buzzer sounded at the end of the game, Toledo had put the finishing touches on a resounding 91-63 victory.
“I don’t know the last time we shot 61 percent [from the field] or 63 percent from 3,” UT coach Tricia Cullop said.
