PULLMAN, Wash. — Fifth-year senior Bella Murekatete hit a jumper from the foul line with three seconds remaining to lift Washington State to a 63-61 victory over the University of Toledo in the quarterfinals of the Women’s Basketball Invitation Tournament.
Washington State faces Illinois, a 69-61 winner over Tulsa, in a semifinal Monday at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. Toledo ends its season with a 28-6 record.
