GREENVILLE, S.C. – Toledo finished Friday's opening round of the 51st Annual Furman Intercollegiate in seventh place with an 11-over par 295. The Rockets are just five strokes behind third-place FGCU in the team standings in the three-day event being held at the par 71, 6,994-yard Furman University Golf Course.
"There was consistent effort by everyone and they fought hard," Head Coach Jeff Roope said. "I don't think anybody was really having the kind of consistent ball-striking day they were hoping for. If we give the same effort, correct a couple of club selection errors and hit some better shots, we'll be okay.
