TOLEDO, Ohio – After one week off of racing, the Toledo men's and women's cross country teams will resume competition this Friday, Sept. 29 along Lake Michigan at the 2023 Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational in Chicago. Hosted by Loyola Chicago, the women will open the day with an 11:00 a.m. 6K, and the men will follow with an 11:45 a.m. 8K race.
The women's team is coming off a first-place finish at Bowling Green's Mel Brodt Collegiate Open on Sept. 15. Sophomore Lianna Surtz (20:57.06) finished second overall in her first collegiate race. She was followed by senior Madeline Vining and junior Morgan Hicks, who finished fourth and sixth, respectively.
