Toledo football's comeback effort falls short in Boca Raton Bowl loss to Louisville

BOCA RATON, Fla. — In every University of Toledo football loss this season, penalties reared their ugly head and that was no different in Tuesday’s 27-22 loss to Louisville.

The Rockets (8-5) drew a season-high 14 flags for 100 yards, fittingly ending the Bush’s Boca Raton Bowl of Beans with a defensive delay of game call off the heels of a scrum on the Louisville sideline where players on both sides were involved.

“The penalties have been something that's plagued us all year,” Toledo interim head coach Robert Weiner said. “It was the pre-snap and procedural things that hurt us.
