The University of Toledo football team set a program record by earning a grade point average of 3.270 for the 2020 spring semester, the school announced today.
The previous high was a 3.027 GPA in 2013.
"We are very proud of the way our players stayed focused on their academics under challenging circumstances this past semester," Toledo coach Jason Candle said in a release. "Like all students, our players had to adjust to a remote learning situation that was thrust upon them in the middle of the term.
“ With the assistance of Ericka Lavender and her staff in the Student Athlete Academic Services area, our team was able to persevere and finish out with our best semester ever.
