The University of Toledo football team hired former Michigan State assistant Mark Staten as its new tight ends coach, The Blade has learned.
Staten spent the last 16 seasons as an assistant coach under Mark Dantonio, first at Cincinnati (2004-06) and then at Michigan State (2007-19). He spent most of that time as an offensive line coach.
Toledo is scheduled to play Michigan State on Sept. 19.
