Toledo football adds Temple to 2026 non-conference schedule

The University of Toledo will host Temple as part of its non-conference 2026 football schedule.

Rockets athletic director Bryan Blair announced the home-and-home series Monday with the return game in Philadelphia coming in 2032.

The game is scheduled for Sep. 19 and will replace a road contest against Syracuse, where former Toledo’s defensive coordinator Vince Kehres now resides.

The Rockets lead the all-time series with Temple, 8-3, last defeating the Owls in the 2015 Boca Raton Bowl, 32-17. Temple was also a former football-only member of the Mid-American Conference from 2007 to 2011.

Toledo opens the season at Michigan State before followed by consecutive home contests against Central Connecticut State, Temple, and San Diego State in that order.
