Kent, Ohio— The Toledo baseball team dropped its series opener at Kent State on Friday night, 6-3.
The Rockets scored first, pushing a run across in the top of the first, but wouldn't hold the lead again during the game. Kent State scored once in the bottom of the first to tie the game, then a three-run third inning for the Golden Flashes gave them the lead for good.
Junior started for the Midnight Blue and Gold and tossed 4.2 innings, while sophomore was terrific out of the bullpen. He contributed 3.1 scoreless innings and struck out three.
