BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Toledo baseball team opened its weekend at Samford with a 5-3 loss on Friday night.
The Rockets (15-18) grabbed an early lead but saw their lead slip away after the Bulldogs (19-15) tied the game in the bottom of the fifth. A two-run bottom of the seventh put Samford ahead, 5-3, which would hold as the final score. UT was held scoreless in the final six innings despite putting runners on base in the closing stages of the game.
"That was a good baseball game," head coach Rob Reinstetle said. "We came out and put some runs on the board early which was great to see.
