PHOENIX, Ariz. – The Toledo softball team closed out the GCU Purple Classic on Sunday afternoon with a 13-6 loss to defending WAC champion Grand Canyon (16-4).
Toledo rallied for five runs in the fifth inning to cut the Antelopes' lead to 13-6 but couldn't come any closer.
Senior led the Rockets today with two hits and two RBIs.
For the weekend, junior collected a team-best eight hits and was 6-for-7 in stolen-base attempts. Senior and sophomore added seven hits each, while senior registered a team-high five RBIs and one home run.
Toledo (6-7) will continue its spring break trip with a game at Long Beach State on Wednesday, March 6.
