DEKALB, Ill. – The University of Toledo men’s basketball team finds itself atop the Mid-American Conference West division after topping Northern Illinois 69-55 on Saturday afternoon at the NIU Convocation Center.
The Rockets backed up a road win over Miami on Tuesday with another over the Huskies as the two teams were tied for first in the MAC West entering the game.
“To get two road wins this week was really big,” Toledo coach Tod Kowalczyk said.
“We played great defensively in the first half [on Saturday], and then we responded when Northern Illinois made a run at us in the second half.
