TOLEDO, Ohio – A spirited battle at the quarterback position has been going on since last spring for the Toledo Rockets, with at least three players vying to become the Rockets' main signal-caller in 2020.
"The guy that wins that job is going to ultimately lead the team from a morale standpoint and from a production standpoint," Candle said. "I think it's the guy that consistently makes the best decisions, the guy that is most accurate with the football, and the guy who can lead guys when things don't go their way."
Senior Eli Peters has started 10 games over the past two seasons, leading the Rockets to a 6-4 record in those contests.
