After going undrafted and being waived by the Denver Broncos in 2009, former University of Toledo standout Brett Kern became the Tennessee Titans’ second ever Pro Bowl punter.
The ex-UT star was a member of the 2005 GMAC Bowl team where the Rockets beat the University of Texas at El Paso 45-3 for their seventh Bowl victory. He is still Toledo’s all-time leader in punting average [42.3] and second in season punting average [46.1 in 2007].
Kern spent 13 seasons in Nashville, two in Denver, and one in Philadelphia before retiring from the National Football League in 2022.
