COLUMBUS, Ohio. - The Toledo men's tennis team opened the ITA Midwest Regional in Columbus, Ohio on Thursday with senior Thawin Suksathaporn advancing to the third round of singles qualifiers.
"Event to event, week to week, and match to match we're seeing immense and rapid improvement from these guys," said head coach Al Wermer. "Let's see if we can keep it going through this tourney as the weekend progresses."
Suksathaporn opened competition for the Rockets bright and early, defeating Youngstown State's Joao Garetto, 7-5, 6-3, to move onto the second round. Suksathaporn also defeated Marquette's Stefan Dragovic (6-2, 6-4), earning a spot in Friday's third round of qualifying singles.
