TOLEDO, OH - Senior forward Steve Taylor Jr. has been named Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.
A Chicago, IL native, Taylor posted a pair of double-doubles and averaged 18.0 points and 16.5 rebounds per game to help Toledo to a pair of victories last week. Taylor also led the Rockets with 4.5 assists per game and shot an efficient 57.7 percent (15-of-26) from the field. He also was 1-of-2 (50.0 percent) from three-point range.
Taylor opened the week on Tuesday with a career-best 22-point, 23-rebound outing in UT's 103-98 (OT) victory over Youngstown State.
