As new Toledo tight ends and offensive tackles coach Mark Staten settles into his new gig with the Rockets, he compared his initiation to the Toledo football program to learning a new language.
Staten is one of four new assistant coaches this year for the Rockets, joining quarterbacks coach Robert Weiner, defensive coordinator Vince Kehres, and co-defensive coordinator Craig Kuligowski.
It's a new feel to the Toledo coaching staff, and Staten hopes he will offer a fresh set of eyes and some perspective based on his experience.
"Watching all the film and learning the new language, it's like a Rockets Rosetta Stone," Staten said.
