Special teams solid in UT win over Ball State

The University of Toledo football team turned in another dominant performance last Thursday against Ball State.

The offense and defense were both clicking in a 58-17 win in Muncie.

What also stood out in the win were the special teams plays the Rockets were able to make.

In the first quarter, UT’s Reggie Gilliam got his fingertips on a Ball State punt and Danzel McKinley-Lewis returned the blocked punt 10 yards to the Ball State 11-yard line.

The block set up a 32-yard field goal by Jameson Vest.

Later in the game, McKinley-Lewis had a long punt return touchdown that was called back on a holding call.
