South Bend, Ind. – The University of Toledo women's track and field team wrapped the first day of Notre Dame's Meyo Invitational, highlighted by a first-place finish in the 60m dash preliminary by senior Shanice Williams. Williams qualified for Saturday's semifinals with a time of 7.48. Senior Christina Johnson also qualified for the 60-meter semifinals with a time of 7.79, which was good enough for 18th place.
Senior Nautica Hill landed in the top 10 in the 200 meters, clocking a time of 24.87. In the 5000m event junior Stephanie Sherman led the Rockets, landing 11th (17:23.
