Anytime the Rockets felt good about themselves, trouble lurked around the corner.
UT entered Friday’s game against Middle Tennessee State coming off three consecutive wins and seemingly reversing the trend of bad news. Instead, all of Toledo’s maladies made an appearance in a 31-24 loss to the Blue Raiders.
The Rockets had 12 penalties for 122 yards. They struggled on third down (four of 15). There was confusion on both sides of the ball. Some play calls left observers scratching their heads.
