KNOXVILLE, Tenn.– The Toledo women's basketball team's historic season came to and end with a 94-47 defeat to Tennessee in second-round NCAA Tournament action at Thompson-Boling Arena in Knoxville, Tenn. on Monday.
The loss ended Toledo's program record 17-game winning streak and brought to an end a season that will go down as one of the greatest in its storied history. The Rockets (29-5) tied the school record for wins, won their second-consecutive outright Mid-American Conference regular-season title and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1996 and just the third time ever.
