TOLEDO, Ohio – Senior second-half goal gave the Toledo women's soccer some momentum, but could not overcome the two-goal deficit to fall 3-1 in the first-ever meeting with Northwestern on Sunday afternoon.
Northwestern held a 3-0 lead into the second half of Sunday's matchup, scored on a penalty kick in the 84, the first goal scored against the Wildcats this season. Northwestern kept up the pressure but Toledo's defense was solid until the final horn and ended the game in a 3-1 decision.
"I am very proud of the group," head coach said. "We were the first team to score on them all season.
