FULLERTON, Calif. – The Toledo softball team had an explosive showing at the plate, connecting on a season-high 14 hits in a pair of wins over Yale 8-5 and Princeton 12-2 (6 inn.) to sweep Day 2 of the CSF/ LBSU Tournament in Fullerton, Calif. on Friday.
In the opener, Yale and Toledo traded leads in the first two innings until the Rockets scored four runs in the fourth to take a 6-4 lead and never looked back. Junior homer and RBI single provided two insurance runs to make it 8-4 in the fifth, and the Bulldogs could not close the gap to end the game in an 8-5 decision.
