Toledo, Ohio— The University of Toledo baseball team has earned the Team Academic Excellence Award from the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA), the organization announced Wednesday.
This marks the third season in a row the Rockets have received this award from the ABCA. The ABCA's Team Academic Excellence Award honors high school and college programs coached by ABCA members that post a grade-point average over 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for the most recent academic year.
A record number of teams were recognized with the 2017-18 ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award. In total, 287 college and high school programs received this year's award, including 93 high school programs and 76 teams from NCAA Div.
