ATHENS, Ohio – Toledo trailed Ohio by 17 points late in the second quarter on Wednesday but came all the way back to win, 76-73, at the Convocation Center in Athens.
The Rockets' victory pushes them to 20-4 and 14-1 in Mid-American Conference play. With the win, they officially clinch a spot in the MAC Tournament, the first team on the women's side to do so.
With 3:02 remaining in the second quarter, Ohio's CeCe Hooks made both free throws to make the score 40-23. Toledo closed the gap to 11 points before the end of the half, then proceeded to outscore the Bobcats 29-16 in the third quarter to take a 60-58 lead, its first of the night.
