CHARLESTON, W.Va. - The Toledo women's tennis team completed its weekend at the Thunder in the Mountains tournament with a strong finish, posting four singles victories against fellow Mid-American Conference foe Akron.
"I was thrilled with the effort today," said head coach Tracy Mauntler. "Three day events are grueling and our entire team showed up with fire today. Eileen Carney and Sloane Teske both had huge wins against very experienced Akron players. This will be great for their confidence moving forward."
Sophomore Eileen Carney defeated Anna Uljanov, 6-4, 6-4, while freshman Sloane Teske earned a win over Rita Pedroso, 6-2, 7-6 (4).
