Toledo, Ohio - University of Toledo football fans pitched in to donate $7,287.45 Thursday night to the American Red Cross in support of Hurricane Harvey relief efforts in Texas. Volunteers from the University of Toledo Student Government and Blue Key collected donations from fans as they entered Thursday night's season-opening football game at the Glass Bowl.
"We are grateful to our fans for stepping up and making donations to the people down in Texas who really need our help," said head coach Jason Candle. "We have a couple of players from Texas, so we know how much this disaster has affected the lives of so many people.
