TOLEDO, Ohio - Cornerback Quinyon Mitchell was named second-team All-America by two major All-America teams today, the Football Writers Association of America and the Associated Press.
The FWAA All-America Team presented by the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic and the AP All-America team are two of the five teams used by the NCAA to select its consensus team. The other three are the AFCA, The Sporting News and the Walter Camp Football Foundation. In 2022, Mitchell earned second-team All-America honors from Walter Camp and third-team honors from the AP, making him just the second Rocket ever and the first since defensive lineman Mel Long Sr.
