TOLEDO, Ohio - Cornerback Quinyon Mitchell was named second-team All-America by the Football Writers Association of America today.
The FWAA All-America Team presented by the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic is one of the five teams used by the NCAA to select its consensus team. The others are Associated Press, AFCA, The Sporting News and the Walter Camp Football Foundation. In 2022, Mitchell earned second-team All-America honors from Walter Camp and third-team honors from the AP, making him just the second Rocket ever and the first since defensive lineman Mel Long Sr. (1970-71) to earn back-to-back All-America honors from one of the five major teams.
