TOLEDO, Ohio – Senior Petronela Simiuc will represent her native Romania at this year's European Athletics Indoor Championships this Friday- Sunday, March 5-7 in Torun, Poland. Simiuc will be competing the women's 1500m race. Prelims are scheduled for Friday.
"It is very exciting for Petronela to have this opportunity to compete at the European Championships representing her native Romania," said Head Coach Andrea Grove-McDonough. "Petronela is a high-level athlete with an incredible work ethic who sets the bar for our current Toledo student-athletes.
"To be selected to such an elite championship is a testament to her and how far she has come over the past year.
