Jacksonville, Fla. - Junior Petronela Simiuc competed in the 1500 meters at the NCAA East Regionals in Jacksonville, Fla. on Thursday, finishing in 47th place with a time of 4:40.28.
Simiuc qualified for the 1500 after placing second at the Mid-American Conference Championships with a time of 4:27.86. Simiuc's all-time best in the 1500 is 4:17.50, which she set in the first round of the prelims in the NCAA Regional last season.
Toledo has one other athlete at the regionals. Senior Katie Dewey will be competing in the discus on Friday and the shot put on Saturday.
