Perseverance pays off in K'Von Sherman's journey to Toledo football

Becoming a two-star linebacker with bad grades is the opposite step toward playing football at the highest level, but K’Von Sherman just wanted an opportunity.

“Football has always been a part of my life,” he said. “I used to ball up socks and pretend like I was running the ball throughout the house, so it's been with me my whole life and I knew it was something I wanted to do.”

Sherman had scholarship offers from Houston Christian University and the University of New Mexico out of high school. Earning a spot at Hutchinson Community College, however, would be his chance to better himself on the field and in the classroom.
