Toledo, Ohio - The University of Toledo's Nate Thomson has qualified for the U.S. Amateur for a second straight year after firing a one-under par 139 at the Watertown Country Club in Watertown, Wis. Thomson will represent the Rocket men's golf program next month at the storied Pinehurst Resort & Country Club in Pinehurst, N.C. on August 12-18.
A Greendale, Wis. native, Thomson carded a one-over par 71 in his first round before capping off his day with a two-under par 68.
Thomson also competed in the 2018 U.S. Amateur at Pebble Beach. Thomson transferred to the Rockets' program from Marquette in January and has one year of eligibility remaining.
