South Bend, Ind. - The University of Toledo men's tennis team wrapped their first day at the ITA Midwest Regionals on Thursday.
Senior Vince Anzalone defeated Notre Dame's Andrew Mariados in two sets (6-2, 6-1) and junior Thawin Suksathaporn defeated Ohio State's Jacob Wareti in three sets (1-6, 6-2, 7-5) in the first round.
Senior Luka Vitosevic fell in a three-set battle to Northern Illinois' Victor Spolidorio 3-6, 7-6 (6-6), 6-2. Valparaiso's Daniel Langston defeated junior Danilo Vukotic 6-3, 7-6 (4-4).
"Today was a great chance for the guys to get the indoor swing off to a good start," said graduate assistant coach Josh Page.
