MAC’s sellout to TV networks is complete

Toledo and Bowling Green might as well have thrown back their football feud to the dark ages last season.

They played in the light.

Imagine that.

For just the third time since 1998, the Mid-American Conference’s best rivalry was decided on a Saturday afternoon — and it pretty much was perfect. Temperatures pushed 70 degrees, tailgates filled the sun-splashed Toledo campus, and the Glass Bowl rocked. A crowd of 30,147 made the Rockets’ thrilling 42-35 win the second-most attended game of the MAC season.

College football at its best. Which means you knew it wouldn’t last.
