CLEVELAND, Ohio – Senior Laura Nicholson was named the Mid-American Conference Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced on Tuesday.
Nicholson recorded a final time of 4:07.17 in the 1500m, running the 17th-fastest 1500m time in NCAA History at the Wake Forest Invitational in Winston-Salem, N.C.
The Cork, Ireland native broke the Toledo school record by three seconds and placed second in the highly competitive national event. Nicholson's final time ranks first in the MAC and fifth in the NCAA.
This is Nicholson's third MAC Track Athlete of the Week honor this season and sixth of her career.
