In a must-win game, the University of Toledo women’s basketball team ended a five-game skid, defeating Akron 75-62 at James A. Rhodes Arena on Saturday.
The Rockets, who trailed at halftime, summoned a 26-13 third quarter and didn’t allow the Zips to make a single 3-pointer all day.
“The thing that’s lost if you look at our record is that we’ve actually played well,” UT coach Tricia Cullop said. “We haven’t played poorly. The score just doesn’t show it at the end of the game. I just keep trying to tell them the silver lining is we’re in the game.
