BUFFALO — One week after Toledo engineered the third-largest comeback in program history, it surrendered the third-largest comeback in program history.
The Rockets dominated through three quarters, leading 27-10 entering the fourth, and then allowed 24 unanswered points in a 34-27 loss at Buffalo.
“You have to make the tough plays,” Toledo coach Jason Candle said. “I have to do a better job.”
The 17-point blown fourth-quarter lead is the biggest ever for UT and the third-biggest overall. It marks Buffalo’s second-largest comeback, behind a 20-point effort against Bowling Green in 2008.
Buffalo had 177 yards, nine first downs, zero punts, and zero penalties in the fourth quarter.
