SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Toledo men's golf team finished the first day of Notre Dame's Fighting Irish Classic at 21-over par 589 on the par-71, 7,020-yard Warren Golf Course. The Rockets are in 13th place and are just 10 strokes behind No. 3 Arizona State.
Senior Grant Godfrey is leading Toledo at one-over par 143 and carded the team's best round of the day with a one-under 70 in the first round. He tallied four birdies and was three-under par midway through his first 18 holes.
Sophomore David Amm is tied for 38th place at five-over par 147, while senior Nate Thomson is tied for 46th place at six-over par 148.
