The University of Toledo is in the postseason, it just isn’t the tournament the Rockets were hoping for.
After a weekend in the dumps, they emerged from their slumber intent on making the Women’s Basketball Invitation Tournament worth their while.
Toledo has a winning history in the WNIT, capturing the championship in 2011 and reaching the final eight in 2012 and 2022. UT has played in 18 postseason tournaments — nine NCAA tournament appearances and nine WNIT appearances — and the Rockets have lost in the first round just five times.
It’s a winning tradition they hope to continue on Thursday.
