TOLEDO, Ohio – Derek Sage has been hired as an assistant football coach at the University of Toledo, Head Coach Jason Candle announced today. Sage will coach the tight ends for the Rockets.
Sage, who previously served as Toledo's wide receivers coach from 2014-16, was the offensive coordinator at Nevada for the past two seasons.
"We're excited to have the opportunity to work with Coach Sage again," said Candle. "He left a really strong impact on our program when he was here before. He went on to work at a couple really strong programs and worked for some really good coaches where he learned a lot and grew as a coach.
