Cold shooting sinks Toledo women against Dayton

The University of Toledo women’s basketball team dropped its home opener Saturday, losing 60-42 to Dayton at Savage Arena.

The Rockets (1-1) went without a field goal for the first five minutes of the game, making just 15 of 48 field-goal attempts (31.3 percent) for the game.

Dayton held Toledo without a basket until the 4:24 mark of the first quarter. The Rockets made just two field goals in 13 tries during the game’s first 10 minutes.

Tatyana Davis, a junior, led Toledo with 13 points off the bench, making three 3-pointers. Mariella Santucci and Quinesha Lockett each added six points.
