CLEVELAND, Ohio – Toledo football running back Chip Trayanum has been named the Mid-American Conference's Male Scholar-Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced this week.
Trayanum earned the award after an explosive performance against Western Kentucky in Toledo's Week 2 victory. He amassed a career-high 163 rushing yards on 14 carries, scored two rushing touchdowns and caught a third touchdown through the air.
Trayanum scored two rushing touchdowns for the third time in his career and had three total scores for the first time. His final score of the game was a 75-yard rush to open the second half, Toledo's longest run since Dec.
