For the third consecutive year, Tod Kowalczyk has struck gold in the transfer portal, securing the services of a player who said no to Toledo the first time around, only to reevaluate and make his way to UT.
Dante Maddox Jr., a sophomore from Cal State Fullerton, announced he will trade Southern California for northwest Ohio, making a similar decision as Setric Millner Jr. and RayJ Dennis — opting against attending Toledo out of high school before reversing course.
“I loved everything about [Toledo], but that Cali life was hard to turn down,” said Maddox, a native of Chicago Heights, Ill.
