Toledo, Ohio — University of Toledo sophomore running back Bryant Koback has been named a candidate for the Doak Walker Award, the PwC SMU Athletic Forum announced Wednesday.
As a freshman in 2018, Koback led the Rockets with 917 rushing yards and 14 rushing touchdowns, all while averaging 6.0 yards per carry. The Holland, Ohio native finished the year tied for second in the MAC in rushing TDs and fifth in rushing yards. Koback ran for a season-high 192 yards against Kent State, the third-most rushing yards in a game by a freshman in program history.
