Toledo is the kind of sports town that will stick with you through thick and thin, rain or shine ... just as long as the times are thicker than a triple-scoop milkshake, the sun is shining, and NCIS is a repeat.

In other words, it is like every other place.

So it was Tuesday night at a teeth-chattering Glass Bowl.

A week after a few hundred fans watched the Toledo football team outlast Eastern Michigan in a washing machine here — “Just us and the band,” coach Jason Candle said — all but a few thousand loyalists decided a visit from Kent State was not worth one of their extremities.
