Cyclones coach Bill Fennelly led the Rockets to prominence from 1988 to 1995, and all three of his assistants have roots in the Glass City. Jodi Steyer was a Rockets assistant under Fennelly, Latoja Schaben was the MAC player of the year here in 1993, and Billy Fennelly all but grew up at Savage Arena watching his dad.
Anyway, Toledo’s Tricia Cullop is friends with all of them, and after watching Iowa State win the Big 12 title on Sunday, she sent Fennelly a congratulatory text.
