WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — For the University of Toledo and its opponent, Temple, the Boca Raton Bowl isn’t just a chance to finish mostly successful years with a week in the sunshine.
It’s also an opportunity to establish a bigger presence in one of the country’s most fertile recruiting areas. Both Temple and Toledo have experienced success with players from Florida, a state that new UT head coach Jason Candle often recruits.
The Owls have 12 Floridians on their roster, including three of their top five leading receivers.
The Rockets have eight players from Florida on their roster, many of whom play major roles on this year’s team.
