The University of Toledo women’s basketball team used a huge second-quarter run to roll past Buffalo 79-46 in its Mid-American Conference opener on Wednesday at Savage Arena.
After taking a 19-13 lead in the first quarter, the Rockets scored 17 unanswered points to begin the second to pull away and open their conference slate on a strong note.
Patricia Anumgba led UT with 21 points, Kendall Carruthers scored 16, and Faith Fedd-Robinson finished with seven points and nine rebounds.
Toledo shot 46 percent (28 of 61) from the field and 27 percent (6 of 22) from 3-point range.
